My Love

I have a lot of weaknesses. I know for a fact Nick has had to put up with my whining, grumpy, tired self A LOT. I hop into my pajamas the minute I get home from work. My morning alarm is usually snoozed for 20 minutes while I dread getting out of my warm cuddly bed. (And when I finally do I grumble and complain about it). I start a "healthy-eating" kick almost every other day. The list really could go on. (and on... and on...) Despite our weaknesses though, we have both seen new sides of each other that have made us fall even more in love. We have seen new strengths and abilities in each other. Nick can make me laugh and laugh and laugh about the most menial things. When I do something totally stupid he will outright laugh at me. This makes me really mad... but then I see the tears trickling down his face from laughing so hard and my heart melts and I start to laugh with him. I'm a little bit uptight - he brings out the little kid in me. He lets me be silly and totally ridiculous. I love when he gets so excited or happy or in love that he can't even begin to express it. He is like a pop bottle you've shaken up waiting for the cap to explode. And when he does explode he hugs me so tight over and over and over and we both laugh and laugh and share the excitement. Those are my favorite moments. He is always appreciative of me cooking or cleaning or doing the laundry. When I make him dinner he always gets up and gives me a kiss and says "thank you". He notices when I've done something new to the house, hung a new picture or mirror or decorated in some way. When I'm critical of others he reminds me to always speak kindly of people. When I have a meltdown over something trivial he gets me to laugh it off. He helps me to be the best I can be and that is one of the things I love about him most. I'm looking forward to spending many more weeks, months, and years with my best friend

Bachelorette Party

Even though this was quite a few weeks ago I just had to post about my bachelorette party. It was one of the most fun and special nights of my life! I spent it with all the people I love and care about most. My older sister Tiffany, who was one of my bridesmaids, threw it for me. If you know Tiffany at all you know she can make absolutely anyone laugh. She turns every day moments into hilarious anecdotes. She's true to herself and doesn't care what other people think (shout out to the Baby Mama shirt). She didn't tell me anything we were doing, just told me a time and place she would pick me up. So the whole night was just one surprise to the next. It was the weekend before my wedding and it wasn't until this night that I finally thought, "holy crap I'm actually getting married!!"

Getting ready to leave with all my gear on

Dinner at Coco Pazzo

To the hotel for some food and swimming

My new sisters :)

After some needed hot tub time, and watersliding it was sleepover time. Which consisted of more food, face masks, late night walk to A&W and I few other things I won't mention....

We looked pretty good the next morning

The Honeymoon

Nick has never been on a big vacation before, so I decided to surprise him with where we'd be going on our honeymoon. Of course Nick is extremely curious and was constantly asking questions trying to trick me into giving up the secret (which I didn't of course... hehe) I think deep down inside he didn't want to spoil the big surprise because he kept his actual snooping to a minimum. He finally found out where our flight was going when we went through customs and the border agent says "what will you be doing in Orlando?" which meant I had to spill the beans right then and there!

we started the honeymoon doing a cruise with Royal Caribbean to the Bahamas. Neither of us had been on a cruise before and it was so fun! Our room was one floor away from the buffet and I still haven't figured out if that was a good thing or not... our eating habits are still suffering! The best part was being together just the two of us with no cell phones or internet, getting away from all the distractions! We have so much fun together :)

Island of Cococay in the Bahamas. Nick's first time in the Ocean!
Our first time Snorkeling
The water was SO beautiful I couldn't believe the turquoise colour. You could see the entire ocean floor! We went jet skiing around all the islands and got to hold a starfish right out of the ocean. I think we had more fun taking pictures than actually snorkelling haha!

The City of Atlantis!!

We ported in the capital city, Nassau, and went to the Atlantis resort. It was BEAUTIFUL! All of the buildings and waterslides are constructed to look like an underwater city. Even the view from the top of the waterslides was breathtaking. Ocean and beach for miles! Nick had to wear a shirt the whole day after getting a wicked sunburn from snorkelling (which he was not happy about). I applied aloe vera on his sore back for the rest of the trip - poor guy.

I went on every single ride even though I was a scaredy pants....
This is the ride you go through the shark tank

beautiful aquarium inside the hotel

Took a break from the waterslides to hit the beach!

Nick building a sandcastle that kept getting washed away
...and check out that sunburned back!

Every once in a while I get one of these brilliant ideas...
I decided to get these ladies to braid my hair in Nassau. Nick went back to the cruise ship, I told him I wouldn't be very long. I only wanted the top braided, that way I could go the rest of the vacation without doing my hair! Wrongo. It took like 2 hours and it hurt so bad I almost had tears in my eyes a few times... It was starting to get dark and I knew Nick would start to get worried. Strange people were wandering the streets and I was getting a little nervous. That's when I saw some giant shadowed animal run across the floor behind the vending machine. "What was that??" I asked. "Oh probably just a rat, they come out at night looking for scraps". That's when I decided to burn the clothes I was wearing. For the rest of the braiding session I played "spot the rats" with myself. When we were finally done she held up a mirror for me to look at the finished product. I tried to mask my terror. I looked hideous! And much to Nick's protest I made him take out the braids that very night using toe nail clippers. What a good husband....

Universal Studios Orlando
He loves Jurassic Park so we made sure to check out all the vehicles

I was so excited about the Despicable Me ride!
Nick was such a good sport and waited like 90 minutes with me to go on it

The Transformers ride was our FAVORITE!

Harry Potter World!!
ok ok we're big Harry Potter nerds.... especially me.
When Nick and I first started dating I would read Harry Potter to him when we hung out. Apparently he loved to listen to books on tape as a kid and he would sit his head in my lap and I would read to him for hours. We finished book 6 and 7 together. So Harry Potter has kind of a special place in both of our hearts. We grew really close by sharing the Harry Potter World together!

   The Three Broomsticks & Honeydukes

While you're waiting to go on the 3D ride the line snakes through the Harry Potter Castle and you literally tour through the castle! It made waiting in line so much nicer. We saw the Fat Lady, Dumbledore's office, and some of the classrooms. The paintings even move and talk to you while you walk around, and holograms of Harry, Hermione and Ron talk and guide you through the castle.

Drinking some butterbeer and showing off our sexy 3D glasses

It was so so fun to go on our first vacation together! We laughed with each other and at each other, tried new things together and had a little R&R. We were a happy Mr. and Mrs. :)
